CONVOCATORIAS MAYO 2015

INDIA:  Greetings from the International Print Exchange Program team.

Two successful years!
Overwhelming response from various corners of the world!

Enriching exhibitions across the globe by participating printmakers. IPEP attempts to provide a platform to printmakers to connect, collaborate and progress coaxially through its unique and democratic approach of sharing and coexistence.
IPEP envision to create informed expressions about the issues that challenges sustenance and harmonious cultural life.

The interrogation of IPEP participants last year, was based upon the thought of 'indigestible' (in relation to food). An open ended thought for free association and creation.

This year, we address the idea of 'FEAR : Horror / Terror'
A universal experience that haunts humanity in its multitudes as an effect of differences. The world is filled with these notions as an individual or as a community, country, race, caste or creed. The differences arising from sociopolitical agendas, difference of faiths, gender, economic interests. Thus fears exist about war, terrorism, uncertainty and the fears which are politically and culturally manipulated either through violence or dogmas.
Though the theme may not be limited to types of fears, however the fears or phobias of individual or personal references would not fall under its scope.
About IPEP :
International Print Exchange Programme (IPEP) is an initiative through which printmakers can share their work with other printmakers and thus get a chance to have multiple exhibitions worldwide and a collection of prints from all over the world. The sole purpose of IPEP is that of sharing print and creating a network of connections with printmakers
around the world and creating an awareness of printmaking by creating more viewership.

This year we have invited Nikhil Purohit (Arts Manager and Art Writer, Mumbai, India) & Mireille Bourgeois (Independent Curator / writer, Nova Scotia, Canada) who collaborate with IPEP 2016 to provide theoretical and documentational support along with their critical views.

How it functions
1. 15 participating Printmakers will be selected by a group of practicing printmakers
2. Each participant has to share 20 editions (15 distributed amongst each of the participants + 5 for the IPEP).
3. The 20 Editions should be couriered to the given address in India. The cost of sending (one way) has to be borne by the participant.
4. IPEP will assort and distribute 15 number of portfolios of each artist edition, which will be packaged in a custom designed printed box and will include a brief on each participating printmaker.
5. IPEP will courier back the portfolios to each of the participant. The expenses incurred for the same will be borne by IPEP.

Rules and Regulations for IPEP 2015:
1. Printmakers should strictly follow the theme 'FEAR : Horror / Terror'.
Kindly send a brief write-up (not more than 100 words) about your approach to the subject (which will be included in catalogue) along with your trial print image or sketch for approval. Approval from IPEP is mandatory and prints without it will not be considered for further procedure.
2. Original prints must be printed by any traditional hand-pulled process. Digital prints / Photographs will not be accepted.
3. Size of paper 30.5 cm x 30.5 cm (12"X 12"), different sizes will not be entertain. The printed image may be of any size larger than 20 cm x 20 cm (8"x 8").
